149 candidates stand for the 2024 ACT election
MEDIA RELEASE 25 September 2024 The ACT Electoral Commissioner, Damian Cantwell AM CSC, has today officially declared 149 candidates standing for the 2024 ACT Legislative Assembly election. These candidates will be vying for 25 MLA positions, with five seats available in each of the five electorates. ‘With the list of candidates and the ballot paper order now confirmed, we are able to finalise preparations for the commencement of postal voting on Monday 30 September 2024 as well as the commencement of attendance early voting on Tuesday 8 October 2024.’ Mr Cantwell said. 11 early voting centres will be available across Canberra for the election. ‘All Canberrans are eligible to vote early from 8 October, and we're committed to helping all eligible ACT electors participate in the electoral process.’ Mr Cantwell added.
