Early voting open now for the 2024 ACT Election
MEDIA RELEASE08 October 2024 Early voting open now for the 2024 ACT ElectionThe ACT Electoral Commission is pleased to announce that early voting for the 2024 ACT Election is now open. Starting from today, Tuesday 8 October, 11 early voting centres will be available across the ACT. ‘All ACT electors are eligible to vote early from 8 October and electors don’t need to vote in their own electorate, they can vote wherever is easiest for them.’ the ACT Electoral Commissioner Damian Cantwell AM CSC said. To find your nearest early voting centre, go to www.elections.act.gov.au/for-voters/how-and-where-to-vote/where-to-vote-early-voting or refer to the Early Voting Guide distributed to all ACT households. ‘The ACT Electoral Commission is committed to making voting as accessible and convenient as possible,” Mr Cantwell said. ‘Legislative changes since the 2020 ACT election changed the eligibility requirements for early voting so that all ACT electors can cast a vote where and when is convenient to them over a two-week period.’ Mr Cantwell added.
